Toddler Trail Mix

I used to make trail mix snack bags for Asher once a week. Now that I am a mom of 2 I am still getting down a routine. I have the basic day to day routine down, but now I need to add in more things I used to do.

Anyways, I had sometime over the weekend during naptime and made Asher a new snack mix with items I already had in the kitchen.

Once Asher woke up these did not last long at all! Pretty sure he ate 2 bags a day!

I love Annie's Brand! They have so many Organic items. Mac-N-Cheese, Fruit Snacks, Cheddar Bunnies & Graham Bunnies, just to name Asher's favorites!

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup Bunny Grahams
  • 1/2 Cup Multi-Grain Cheerios
  • 1/2 Cup M&M's
  • 1/2 Cup Raisins
  • 1/2 Cup Mini Marshmellows

Place them all together in a bowl & mix. Portion out into snack baggies!

New flavors!!

These are very summery!

I love the Oatmeal ones for in the mornings. Sometimes Asher will have 1 or 2 pouches for breakfast. These actually fill him up. Breakfast in a squeeze pouch!

I only post my most successful flavors. Some of the flavors I make up are not a hit at all. Which is okay! Asher is such a picky eater, so if he likes them, they have to be good!

Out of this batch orange creamsicle is his favorite. He is unsure of the banana coconut. He grabs it out of his drawer, eats half, and then wants to put in back in the drawer.

Mango Coconut:
  • 2 mangos
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
Directions:
  1. Peel mango & cut into chunks
  2. Add all ingredietns to blender
  3. Blend until smooth
  4. Pour into squeeze station

Strawberry Peach Oatmeal:
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 cup peaches
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/4 cup milk
Directions:
  1. Peel peaches & take out seed. Cut into chunks
  2. Make oatmeal according to package directions. Let cool
  3. Add all ingredients to blender
  4. Blend until smooth. (you may need to add more milk if the consistancy is really thick)
  5. Pour into squeeze station

Orange Creamsicle:
  • 1 orange
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup milk
Directions:
  1. Peel orange
  2. Add all ingredients to blender
  3. Blend until smooth
  4. Pour into squeeze station

Pina Colada:
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup spinach
Directions:
  1. Cut up your pineapple
  2. Add all ingredients to blender
  3. Blend until smooth
  4. Pour into squeeze station

Melon Madness:
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup melon
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
Directions:
  1. Cut up all your fruit
  2. Add all ingredients to blender
  3. Blend until Smooth
  4. Pour into squeeze station
Blueberry Banana:
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup spinach
Directions:
  1. Add all ingredients to blender
  2. Blend until smooth
  3. Pour into squeeze station
Strawberry Mango:
  • 1 cup apple juice

  4. Blend until smooth
  5. Pour into squeeze station
So many great flavors!

Lately I feel like super woman. We all have been adjusting to our new life from being a family of 3, to now a family of 4. And I have to tute my own horn, I'm rocking it! I have been utilizing nap time and have been able to keep up with our snack boxes and Asher's squeeze pouches.

I recently just ordered more squeeze pouches and went to town making a bunch.
Infantino Squeeze Pouches, 100 Count
Some of these recipes are repeats and some are new. I tend to repeat at least 1 or 2 because that means it is currently Asher's favorite. He is so stuck on the Peanut butter Banana right now. I even gave him his own drawer in the fridge. He loves it, He now goes to the fridge and tries to pull the door open while saying "pouch". This way with his own drawer he can pick out which flavor he wants.

Cinnamon Sugar Peach: ( I typically don't add sugar to anything I make fore Asher. He does not need the extra sugar & my goal is to provide a nutritious squeeze pouch. But this is his sweet treat. When I was younger my mom used to cut me up peaches and add cinnamon sugar to them. They were so delicious and I wanted to share that with Asher.)
  • 2 peaches
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp sugar
Directions:
  1. Remove skin from peaches and seed

Pigs in a blanket spin

I typically like to provide Asher with a nutritious meal. He can be a very picky eater and 75% of the time does not eat what I cook for dinner. I usually have to make him something else (which I swore I would never do), but sometimes it's not worth arguing with a 23 Month old.

Who else remembers their parents giving them "pigs in a blanket" as a child? This meal consisted of hot dog and cheese rolled up in bread and baked in the oven. As a kid I loved it!

For some reason Asher does love hot dogs. I feel alot of children do. I know hot dogs are not the best and maybe next time I will look into turkey dogs. Anyone ever use them?

It was one of those days that I knew Asher would not eat what I made for dinner and honestly I didn't feel like enduring the toddler meltdown. So mommy got creative! Here's my spin on the childhood 'Pigs in a blanket"

Ingredients:
  • Crescent dough
  • Hot dogs
  • Velveeta slices
Directions:
  1. Unroll your crescent dough
  2. Lay cheese slices
  3. Place hot dog
  4. Roll up
  5. Cut slits in top
  6. Bake at 375 Degrees for 8 minutes or until dough is completely done and hot dog in warm.
Super quick and super easy!

I seem to always have crescent dough sheets on hand, which is nice for a quick kids dinner!

A Minnie themed birthday party can be so much fun! First of all I love pink, so the more pink the better! Here are some ideas for your child's Minnie Themed Birthday Party.
Picture
My best friend's daughter is turning 2! Her theme for the party is Minnie Mouse. Her decorations are so adorable! We typically work together on activities for our kiddos or anything in the kitchen. She told me her ideas for the party and from there we had to brainstorm of how to actually make them.

Honestly we went in blindly and had a few trial and errors, but these turned out adorable and taste delicious! She had bought 2 different cookie cutters. The Minnie head has a bow on it but for some reason when it baked you could not see the bow. It actually worked in our favor because we could use the same cookie cutter and make Mickey as well.

So my mom used to be a baker! She used to make wedding cakes when I was younger. So when the bestie says she need's Minnie cupcakes & a Minnie cake, my mom was just the one for the task! My mom baked all the cupcakes and cake. She assembled the cake and did all the icing. I added the Minnie ears and bow!

My mom's recipes are top secret for the cupcake, cake flavors, and icing. Even I don't know the recipe for the cupcake flavors. I will not be sharing those, but she did make  vanilla and chocolate.

Cupcakes:
  • Mini Oreos
  • Pink melting Chocolate
  • Bow mold
Directions:
  1. First make yours cupcakes
  2. Once cooled apply your pink icing
  3. Add 2 mini oreos
  4. Melt your pink chocolates; pour into bow mold; freeze until frozen; pop out of mold; place in between oreos
  5. Use white icing to make the dots

Lastly my husband made a wooden #2. My bestie painted it and turned it into a Minnie! When our kiddos turned 1 he also made wooden 1's. I play to post them at a later date. He will probably end up making them a number every year.

I was unsure how this would turn out, but it is taste tester approved!! Asher love, love, loves this flavor! Wish I would of thought of it sooner.

Asher has always been a huge fan of Blueberry Baked Oatmeal. So why not make it into a smoothie pouch for him!? Great for on the go breakfast when we are rushing out the door.

Again I used my Infantino Squeeze Station. Which I absolutely love! I did not always have this squeeze station and it made the process more difficult.

I have really been slacking with coming up with new flavors! I typically like to do 3 new flavors at a time, but life has been crazy and Asher is really loving his peanut butter banana smoothie flavor. So I made another round of that and this peach-pear smoothie, which he is enjoying as well!

Ingredients:
  • 1 peach
  • 2 pears
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
  1. Peel and decore peach and pears
  2. Place fruit in saucepan with water and boil on the stove until tender
  3. Add all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth
  4. Pore into your squeeze pouches!
I absolutely LOVE my infantino sqeeuze station! I wish I would have got one when Asher was smaller and I used to make him baby food. I plan on using this for Aubriella and making her baby food in these.

This station is so easy to use and easy to clean. The only thing that I am not a huge fan about, is how the squeeze pouches are not reusable. But their size and top is exactly like the store bought ones. Which Asher loves the tops to the store bought ones for some reason. I've tried 3 different squeeze pouches. When he was smaller he didn't mind the Kiinde brand, but now he only like the Infantino ones.
Here is the link to my post with the Peanut Butter Banana smoothie recipe if you haven't checked it out yet!

It appears Asher is teething again. He is a super picky eater to begin with. It is even worse when his little mouth is hurting. 2 things I can always get my child to eat. Yogurt & Fruit.

Asher stopped taking interest in the other squeeze pouches I used to make him. I couldn't figure out why. He used to love them! I used Kiinde brand. Finally it dawned on me, the top wasnt the same as the store bought squeeze pouches.

Randomly out of the blue one of my best friends had texted me asking if I had bought the Infantino squeeze station yet. I hadn't but have been wanting to try it. 3 days later there was an Amazon package at my front door. There is was! My squeeze station! All thanks to one of my best friends.

Needless to say I have had huge success! Not only does Asher love these squeeze pouches because they are like the store bought ones, but I absolutely love my squeeze station! So easy to use and I feel like it makes the whole process of making these so much quicker! I highly recommend it. They also have a spoon attachment that I cant wait to use!

I made about 25 of these. I place them all in the freezer and pull out as needed! Also with them being frozen I can take them in the diaper bag and they will defrost throughout the day and are typically defrosted enough when Asher is ready for one!

Since the Oatmeal breakfast bites were a big hit, I figured why couldn't I make pancake bites as well? These turned out to be a big hit as well! As I have said before I love being able to make a big batch of something and freeze a majority of them. I just pull out of the freezer and place into the fridge when I want to use them. Add In's:
Blueberries
Chocolate Chips
Maple Syrup

Directions:
  • Whisk together all ingredients
  • Pour into mini muffin tin
  • Add the Add In's
  • Bake at 400 for 12 mins
These are also freezer friendly!

1/2 Cup Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
1 TBSP Sugar

Directions:
  • Mix all ingredients together
  • Pour into mini muffin tin
