Well Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I have been on my blog! I would like to announce that I am back!!
Firstly let's start with Asher is now 4 and Aubriella is now 2!! They are getting so big so quickly! They keep me super busy and always on the move. I have a different plan for this blog. I realized I can't do the same activities as I once could when I just had Asher. Having two is totally different. My children are very high energy, never sitting still, very intelligent little human beings. I really want to focus on my Meal Prep & my Etsy/ Ebay store. I try to meal prep once a month and it is the biggest life saver EVER! Asher is now in soccer & karate and Aubriella is now in gymnastics. I also work and there is literally no time to be standing at the stove cooking. These recipes are so simple and delicious! I've also taken a different route with my Etsy store. I mainly post my items on my Facebook or Instagram. I have a bunch of new fun stuff coming! A lot of mommy & me t-shirts, sweatshirts and Headbands. As always bows are still being made! Tons of "mom" themed items such as cups, t-shirts, sweatshirts and even DIY doormats! I'll be posting last weeks meal prep here within the week! www.facebook.com/AsherAubsCreations

If you haven't already, make sure to check out the first part to this series that I started. If my first blog about the homemade baby food I make I showed how I freeze and store the purees. Ill add a link to make it easier to find!
http://adventuresofasher.weebly.com/home/first-foods When introducing baby food make sure to only introduce one food at a time. I allow 3 days of introducing the same food before I introduce another. In those 3 days I'm checking to make sure my baby does not have a reaction. Making sure there's no rash, constipation, diarrhea, or any other signs of a food reaction. Again I am not pediatrician, you should always consult with them first. I am just sharing my recipes and my personal experiences! Enjoy! Now that we got all of that good stuff out of the way here are the 4 recipes I am going to share with you today!

Once all your puree's are cooled in their ice cube trays on the counter, label & cover them with plastic wrap. Place ice cube trays in the freezer & allow food to freeze overnight. The following day you can label baggies and dump the cube into baggies. These cube's are good in the freezer for 3- 6 months. 3 months is more desirable. Thawing: The night before I will get what foods I want to feed my baby the next day. I will place them in separate kiddie bowls and cover with plastic wrap and place them in the fridge to defrost. Then when I am ready to feed my baby I will warm the puree for 7 seconds in the microwave. I then stir the puree and check for hot spots. If you are using rice cereal try mixing one of the fruit puree's in with the rice cereal! * You can also put these recipes into squeeze pouches*
My kid's have really brought out the best in me. I never touched a sewing machine in my life! Until one day I picked one up off facebook market place. Since then I'm hand making everything!
This year I made both my kid's costumes! Halloween is right around the corner! Here is a simple Puppy dog costume! My 5 month old is a being a Dalmatian puppy & my 2 year old is a firefighter. Most of these items for the puppy costume I had laying around the house. What you need:
First off I got on google and googled puppy dog ear template. I printed it out and cut along the lines. I traced the pattern on both black & white felt. Then I used my hot glue gun and glued them together. Next I made small and large spots using the black felt and once again glued them down. I then glued the ears onto my nylon band.
I make bows on my Etsy store, so you could make a red bow or buy one. Then attach it to the center on your nylon band.
Next is the onesie. I had a plain white onesie laying around the house so I used that. I cut out small and large spots on black felt and glued then to the onesie.
Next is the tulle skirt. I cut elastic to fit my little girl and then quickly ran it through the sewing machine. You can also free hand sew it if you don't have a sewing machine or use crochet elastic where no sewing is involved. I then cut out all my tulle to the length I wanted. Make sure you double the length because you fold it in half to attach it. Next fold your tulle in half and attach it to your elastic. Keep going until you reach the beginning. I found a small red piece of tulle and made a small bow and attached it to the skirt.
Finally the leg warmers. So i cheated. I bought these on amazon. I had high hope's to make these from scratch but I ended up just purchasing them.
And there you have it! a simple puppy dog costume!
I wanted to give everyone an update on Aub's most recent doctor's appointment!
Thursday was a rollercoaster with my emotions. First of all I'm mom. So anything related to my kids whether good or bad I tend to get emotional. Nothing major happened, but I guess I had though things were a little different than they appeared to be! Aubriella's appointment was to check in and make sure she was meeting her baby milestones and to get x-rays of her hand. (if you have not yet read my Introducing Aubriella post or have met my daughter, please read that post first! otherwise you will be lost) Aubriella's specialist is in Deleware. They are amazing!! Her doctor takes so much time with us and constantly asks if we have questions. Also if I leave the appointment and forgot to ask something, all I have to do is e-mail her! We arrived and Aub's got her x-rays. She was such a champ and actually laughed through the x-ray. We then went back to talk with her doctors. Dr. Ty was so pleased with Aub's hand and how much she uses it. At this time Aub's does NOT need any physical OR surgery! Awesome news! Her doctor did say that maybe down the road if need be we could look into lengthening her pinky. With doing that it would give her a better pinch for her to grab and grasp items. At this time they don't do surgery unless its necessary. But at this point she is doing extremly well and we don't have to make any decisions. Aubriella has met all of her baby milestones and once again is doing great! We got to review the x-ray with the doctor next. The x-ray showed that Aubriella does have a full thumb, bones in her hand, and currently no bones in her 4 fingers. The doctor did say that the bones could just be cartilage and that when she comes back when she is 1 that there maybe some bone growth. As for now there is none. I had really high hopes that she did have bones in her little fingers. I truely thought there were. Especially for how well she uses her hand. Time will only tell if she will have some bone growth or not. I am trying to stay very positive about this, but it is a little difficult to wrap my head around. Secondly, I don't remember if I shared or not about Asher having to see a Neurosurgeon. When he was about 18 months the pediatrican recommended we see a pediatrician & a plastic surgeon due to his head shape. Around 4 months old I questioned that Asher had an indent in the back of his head. I was always advised that it would pop out when he was older and that it was nothing to be concerned about. The Neurosurgeon & Plastics said that Asher did not have anything wrong with him and that sometimes that just happens. They said there was no need for a special hemlet and that possibly the indent could pop out. We left it at that and found peace in the answers we recieved. Well at Aub's appointment Dr. Ty had pointed out that Aubriella has the exact same indent in the back of her head. I was already aware of this & had questioned the pediatrican, whose was once again not concerned. Since Aubriella was born I was afraid that she would develop this indent & that maybe I had failed Asher as a parent and did not give him even tummy time. With that being said Aubriella is constantly on her belly & I had decided to baby wear the majority of the time. Well appreantly none of that had helped, because we are back in the same positon. Anyways her doctor has referred us to a Neurosurgeon in DuPont and we go in 2 weeks. We were advised to take Asher so we could talk to the doctor about him and compare their heads. I'm trying not to freak out about seeing a Neurosurgeon again because I feel & know in my heart my kid's heads are fine. If you have ever met Asher you know how smart he is. He can count to 40, knows his ABC's, knows his colors, shapes, and is potty trained. (i am very proud of him so it felt fitting to brag a little there). If there were a Neurologial issue he most likely would not be that advanced is what we were advised. Plus Aub's is hitting all of her milestones and then some. Saturday we went to a upper extremity event at the the hospital. Can I just say WOW!! So this is the first place where I did not feel that people were staring at Aub's hand. Also I met some wonderful people! It was so great to talk with others that have kid's just like mine. I was able to ask questions and got amazing responses. It felt so amazing to be there. Afterwards I felt so much better. I always want to be strong for Aubriella, but I am human and I am mom. I worry alot. Especially about her future. I felt like being about to talk about fears and have questions answered lower alot of that anxiety and what if questions. I know this is not always going to be a smooth road but having a support system surely helps! So overall the appointment was great! We go back in June 2019 for more x-rays. As I said I had hoped for somethings to be different, but you know what she is doing well without and will continue to do well. I am anxious for the Neurosurgeon but I am remaining positive!
If your a mom, you probably have a ton of broken crayons! I know I did. Instead of throwing them out we made new crayons with them! It was a great activity!
Asher loved the concept of breaking the crayons into even smaller pieces. Plus he loved telling me the colors as well. I then did a coloring activity with the new crayons we made! This was a 2 day process. Here's what you need! Crayon Activity:

I am super excited to announce that I have opened an Etsy store!
Aubriella has so many headbands. They were all just thrown in a drawer and I could never find which one I wanted. So I decided to make her a headband holder! She currently now has 2 headband holders and both are filled! I than decided why not do a same style hat holder for Asher! Adam and I are always running around the house asking who saw his hat last so he can go outside and play! Now the headbands and hats are both organized and in one place! This makes me very happy!
After having Aubriella in May this year, we decided it's silly for me go back to work full time. We would pay out more to have someone watch both kids and I would miss out on a lot. I do enjoy my days off with the kids and being very active in their lives. I love doing activities with them. So I am now part time. By opening this Etsy store I am hoping to provide a little extra income for my family!
I have expanded pretty quickly and have been adding new items continuously. I have started making bows & headbands! ALSO one of my favorites is a matching sibling pocket T-shirts and Bows! Definitely check them if you have 2 or more children. I also can do matching brother shirts or sister bows. I am doing a giveaway to promote my Etsy shop. Once my Facebook page(Asher&Aubs Creations) reaches 100 follows I will be giving away a free headband or hat holder of the winners choice. If they chose specific colors it will take 1-2 weeks to process.
So if you would like to be entered, click the Facebook icon above and click follow! You also can share my post on facebook! If you would like to browse my Etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/asheraubscreations So let's spread the word together! Free item once Facebook page Asher&Aubs Creations reaches 100 follows! Also I will be doing custom orders for specific colors and will be adding Names soon! Please feel free to contact me with any questions! Thanks everyone!
I am so excited to start this series! When Asher started eating baby food I did not have my blog. I wish I did because I homemade all of his baby food as I now do with his squeeze pouches. I was able to pull out some of the same recipes that I found all crinkled in a drawer.
Aubriella is just about 4 months old. We will be introducing her to foods really soon! I know everyone has their own opinion as to when a baby should start foods. I always check with my pediatrician. Plus every child is different. My kids are hungry babies. Constantly hungry! My pediatrician recommended at 4 months we introduced foods to Asher. All I can say is from my experience, Asher was a completely different baby once starting foods! Not only did he start sleeping longer, but just his whole demeanor changed. He became more content, happier, and so pleasant to be around! Aub's is definitely following in his footsteps!
Asher never cared for the rice cereal. Rice cereal is suppose to be a good beginner food, but there is also a lot of debates about how nutritious it really is. Once again I can only speak from my experience and my son did not like it, so we skipped right over it! I plan to do the same with Aubriella. There are so many options for first foods. I'm going to share 4 of the first foods I try with my babe's, how to make them, and how to store them. The first food is PEARS. This was Asher's absolute favorite. He still loves pears to this day. Pears don't have a strong flavor which makes them desirable. They also are fairly easy to digest. Directions:

I used to make trail mix snack bags for Asher once a week. Now that I am a mom of 2 I am still getting down a routine. I have the basic day to day routine down, but now I need to add in more things I used to do.
Anyways, I had sometime over the weekend during naptime and made Asher a new snack mix with items I already had in the kitchen. Once Asher woke up these did not last long at all! Pretty sure he ate 2 bags a day! I love Annie's Brand! They have so many Organic items. Mac-N-Cheese, Fruit Snacks, Cheddar Bunnies & Graham Bunnies, just to name Asher's favorites! Ingredients:
Place them all together in a bowl & mix. Portion out into snack baggies! So this week has been full of rain! A lot of on and off rain. Friday we managed to do an outside activity right before it down poured! I really didn't have anything planned for Friday, but I knew whatever we did had to use items at home and I wanted it to be a learning experience. We went outside to watch the butterflies on our butterfly bush (as we call it) and Asher than wanted to get all of his toys out of the shed. I did not feel like getting everything and then having to clean it up. Plus I wanted to teach him something. So I headed to the garage to see what I could find. CHALK! There are so many things I could teach him with chalk.
I decided we would work on our shapes! I was pretty blown away though. As I started drawing the shapes Asher started calling them out! I was very impressed!
Here is an easy way to teach your kiddo's shapes. Also not alot of items needed! All you need is chalk and somewhere to use it! Thursday we had a long over due playdate! I swear playdates always tire Asher out the most!
These are 2 girls that I went to High School with. We were all pregnant at the same time with our first kids. We all had boys first! Then again we were all pregnant with our second. Two of us had girls and the other had a boy this time. So all of are kids are super close in age. We had a playdate once when the boys were really little. They weren't even crawling yet. Between all 3 of our schedules we haven't been able to find time. Finally we did on Thursday and it was awesome to catch up! We now are going to try and make play dates a thing and actually schedule them. Not only does Asher love playdates and it keeps him busy, but I myself LOVE playdates. I love talking to other adults. I feel like some weeks I am only around my kids and husband and thrive for other human interaction. I feel it is really important to have mom's friends! I could not be a full time stay at home mom. I would go stir crazy. I do love my current schedule. It's just enough time at work and just enough time with my kids. I work 3 long days a week, but have off 4 than with my kids. What else I love about playdates, being real with your mom friends. Let's face it we try to act like we have everything together, especially portraying it on facebook. Playdates are where I find out I'm not alone. My 2 year old is not the only 2 year old protesting naptime, refusing to eat lunch, and having tantrums. Don't get me wrong we have some really good days, but some days are not as smooth. Asher loves interacting with other kids. He is very sociable. It really helps him learn how to share and it's so cute watching him play with his little friends. It was wonderful to talk and see how these other 2 mom's are doing it with 2 kids. It's always great to know that you are not alone. We actually just scheduled our next play date and I am so excited for it. Having mom friend's is amazing and very valuable to me! Enjoy our photos! ( Of course there was no way of getting all of us in a photo . Maybe next playdate we will get one!) Aubriella & Ellie are 10 days apart!
Walker & Asher are 9 days apart! |
